Houston: The City with No Limits
The city of Houston is known for being one of the most diverse places to live in Texas.
Houston is nicknamed the "Space City" and is a global city with strengths in business, international trade, entertainment, culture, media, fashion, science, sports, technology, education, medicine, and research. Houston has great tourist attractions and great food. In August of 2017, Hurricane Harvey hit Houston. The storm made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane and dropped record levels of rain on the city. Blistering winds destroyed buildings, boats, and homes standing in its path. Pounding rains and rapidly rising floodwaters caused by Hurricane Harvey inundated the city of Houston. Churches and residents are in need of people who can help them rebuild their lives. Many times flooding is not covered by insurance so they are totally dependent on the generosity of others to help them.
We are privileged to make a difference in this city. The primary focus will be on relief and rebuilding homes and churches, as well as organizing outreaches in the communities and with children who were impacted by the hurricane.
